Tester Tuesday - Gender Bender

So much life happening! I really thought I was back up and running last week with my regularly scheduled program, but alas life gets in the way. BUT - I hope to make up for that last week, this week :)

I'm happy to resume Tester Tuesday. It's a fun way for me to share things that I find that I think might benefit you, dear reader.

As a gal who delves into the Pinup world, I have a fair amount of makeup. Okay, okay...I lie...I have a TON of makeup. With a lot of makeup, comes brushes!! Not only do I have my original stash of makeup brushes, but I follow different makeup companies on Instagram...only to purchase more brushes than I know what to do with.

A girlfriend of mine once told me the importance of clean makeup brushes. I'll admit...I'm still pretty lazy with cleaning my make up brushes, but I clean them more frequently now than before she had passed along her knowledge. I've tried different ways of cleaning my brushes - click here for my previous routine.

A while ago I started using products from Perfectly Posh. I've wanted to do reviews before...but some of the products are hard to show via blog....who knows, I may still try. But this one...this product is AMAZING. I don't remember where I saw this, but I knew I needed to order the Gender Bender Chunk as soon as I saw it.

As a gal who loves Bath & Body Works, I have more than enough soaps, lotions and smell good stuff
to last me for the rest of the year. So I most certainly didn't need Gender Bender for body cleansing purposes. But I am now a firm believer in having clean makeup brushes and I have yet to find the best cleanser...until now!

Gender Bender is a charcoal, silt and carbon based bar of soap that "detoxes". The charcoal pulls out the dirt and grime from within your brushes. The shea butter and palm oil leaves your brushes soft and manageable for future use.

One of things I detested about washing my makeup brushes is the next use seemed to not apply the makeup nicely and evenly. The brushes would be a bit stiff and the application would be a bit uncomfortable until they were "broken in" again....not with this puppy! It's gentle and it works quickly. The video below was my first attempt at using Gender Bender:

You can see the makeup coming off the brush less and less and the suds on the bar becoming less and less brown. What I generally do after I wash my brushes is wipe them on a towel to see if any product is left on them. I'm dumb and didn't include that in the video...but there was ZERO product left on my brush. Usually there will be a light brown smudge on the towel indicating that I removed most of the product, but not all. Then I'll go back in and continue to wash and clean. The Gender Bender saved me a whole step!

Of course, I set my brushes out to dry on a rack. Check out my blog entry here on what rack I use.

Perfectly Posh has been compared to Lush. In fact, I prefer the lip scrub I've tried from Posh to Lush's lip scrub. Hmmm...maybe that can be my next Tester Tuesday :) Posh uses natural ingredients in their products and are made in the United States. They currently do not ship internationally, however, my friend (Ky) has graciously offered to send to those who are interested and are international as long as you are willing to pay for the shipping. You can find her here - this is her Facebook Group, Posh With Ky. You will also find specials and deals, features of the week and even giveaways!!

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. If I don't know the answer, I'm sure Ky will be more than happy to assist.

This blog is brought to you from the rooftop pool where I am lounging.

Cheers!!

Essentially,

Evie xoxo
