Weekend Wrap Up

Meant to post this blog yesterday....but I was able to spend some quality time with the hubs...so you know, priorities <3

In the past few months, I've been really getting into antiquing!! This is the second time I've lived in Vegas and I had no idea what a huge antique area we have! I may have mentioned this before and I most certainly have a few favorites that I go to regularly....but I wanted to explore!

During the summer, my friends and I would walk around Vegas for exercise. Every time we got toward the Arts District, all the stores were closed. So we would ooh and aah through windows. Finally, one of us remembered to get up early(ish) on a Saturday, go walking and go in to see and the fun and amazing vintage items.

We started off at Repeats - a very interesting place with unique antiques...and some...non so antique:

but it made me giggle, so I had to snap a photo of this drunkard. I will say they had an interesting display of knives, swords and random pieces that you think are awesome but have no place in your home.

Directly next door is Main Street America. I looks like three shops, but we could only figure out how to get into one. Maybe it is just one shop and the others just lead to storage. The first two doors on the left said to use the next door....so we went into the only one that was open.

There was everything from clothing, to purses, plates, mugs, records, books, poker tables, record players and even...authentic real mink stoles. I don't mind the fur...but the faces. Not going to lie, totally creeped me out!! But my friends wears it so well :)

Main Street America has wall-to-wall stuff. The lady that was there was doing her best to organize the store, but she has quite the task! She told us to make an offer on anything we see....she'll give us a good deal. We didn't leave with anything, but I have my eye on a couple things!

We kept walking up the road until we hit It's About Time. One of my favorite places! When you walk in, it's mainly clocks...but don't be afraid to snoop around, there is something for everyone!

Funny...this is the same exact type of motorcycle my friend learned to ride on. "I ate shit, the first time I rode it!"

Directly next door to It's About Time is Patina. Patina is very well organized and there are plenty of unique items. They had quite the selection of serving carts...which were my favorite. This store has quite the price tag on many of their items. However, I feel they are fairly priced.

Aren't these serving carts gorgeous!?

At first glance, this picnic basket is just a plain ol' basket. I wish I would have thought to take pictures of the inside, but I was too buy oggling at it.. When opened, it has a steel lining and the left side was sectioned off so you could put ice in it. The ice would keep all of the steel cold thus keeping all of your picnic goodies cool as well. Downfall....heavy as fuq!

I leave you with a last impression of Patina:

Couple doors down is Medusa's Antiques. Another place with some awesome things that you want, but would have no place for them. Their Instagram shows all the cool stuff they have. They have couches made out of beds of trucks, custom made bars, harp tables AND in the way back:

PEE WEE'S BIKE! It's not the real bike....at least I don't think so. I love Pee Wee and in turn, love his Big Adventure. Judge me if you must, but I love him.

Our last stop was The Funk House, another one of my favorite places. This is another location that is wall-to-wall stuff. I'm pretty sure if you are looking for it, they have it! Include this trunk....they just don't make them like this any more....mainly because I know I wouldn't want to carry this puppy....but really, it's AMAZING.

The owner let us know that she is moving locations and that she's giving great deals! I have my eye on a couple things. They've been there for months but since she's moving, she quoted a few things at 50% off, who can beat that?!

You can easily lose time while exploring antique shops. We have plans to continue this weekend too!
There are so many places to explore - can't wait to get some goodies!

What have you found while antiquing?

Sadly, not sipping on anything while writing this blog...too full!

Cheers!

Essentially,

Evie xoxo
